I was raised in small town southern Illinois and loved every minute of it.  A lot of our vacation time was spent with my mother's family in the Ozarks of southeast Missouri on my great uncle's farm.  The experiences there will eventually fill their own book.

Married almost 40 years to a dashing fighter pilot, we have one son, an equally dashing electrical engineer.  He recently became engaged to a wonderful lady with two daughters - instant Grandparents!!   Life is good.

When someone asks what type of horses I have, my usual response is "idiots."  But, they are really not idiots but amazing individual personalities.  Two are purebred Arabians, the young mare is half-Arab and her mother is of unknown origin but is probably part haflinger.  They are my passion and my loves.  Going into retirement means more

My second passion is Scotland and our yearly travel to the Highlands.  If  I could take my ponies with me, we'd spend a lot more time there!  If you have any interest in visiting that amazing country, check out my other blog site:  www.kiltsandcoos.com

Not much of a sleeper or someone who sits still very long, I spend a lot of late night/early morning hours in my "studio" working on stained glass and designing jewelry.  My sister is a true stained glass artist and my Dad did some amazing pieces.  I took classes in Germany decades ago but just started working with it again in the couple years.  I still have a long way to go to meet the quality of their work, but I truly enjoy it.
